December 20, 2024
Jasmine Boyd is a SMART scholar, athlete, and computer science extraordinaire. She is pursuing her MS in Computer and Computational Sciences and Computer Engineering at Alabama A&M University (AAMU), an Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Inspired to keep our country safe, Jasmine decided that dedicating her education to cybersecurity was not only her passion, but a contribution to our nation. She says, “Studying and working in the field of computer science/cybersecurity has been a long-time interest to me. [I want] to learn how to keep our information secured and safe.”  The SMART scholarship has benefited Jasmine’s degree pursuit in many ways, including being able to focus on her academics to complete graduate school rather than worry about a costly tuition. Outside of the classroom, Jasmine is a 5th year athlete and member of the Women’s Tennis Team. She is the HBCU 2023 Women’s A Singles Tennis Champion.  Upon graduation, Jasmine will begin work at the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO), Stennis Space Center, MS. In the meantime, she looks forward to participating in her summer internship.   Read more about Jasmine Boyd here.
